Lake Champlain (Plattsburgh/North)
Overview
The north end of Champlain offers exceptional smallmouth fishing, but there are select areas where largemouth bags can exceed 20 pounds. Early in the season, bedding smallmouth are often key to winning. Later in the year largemouth factor in more frequently.
Topwater, jerkbaits, tubes and drop shots are all key for smallmouth. Jigs have won or finished high with largemouth.
